What are BOTOX treatments?
BOTOX® is a purified protein that targets the nerve impulses to specific muscles in the face. BOTOX causes the muscles to no longer contract, so the overlying skin looks smoother and less wrinkled. Untreated muscles still move and create expressions, so you look natural, but without extra creases and wrinkles.
Where can BOTOX be used?
BOTOX is approved for use between the eyebrows to reduce the look of the furrows that appear when you frown. Dr. Rincon can also treat other forehead lines and offer a lift of the eyebrows. BOTOX is also effective at reducing the appearance of the squint lines around your eyes known as crow’s feet.

What should I expect during a BOTOX treatment?

Do BOTOX injections hurt?
BOTOX injections do involve a needle and may cause a slight pinch during treatment. Most patients tolerate the injections well, but if you’re concerned about the sensation, Dr. Rincon may offer ice or a light topical anesthetic to numb the skin before treatment.
You may experience minor swelling, bruising, redness, or a headache following treatment. But you don’t have to take any downtime, so you can go right back to work or your other regular activities following treatment.
How soon will I notice results?
The positive effects of BOTOX injections are visible within a few days, and the effects last for 3-4 months. As the BOTOX loses its potency, you may notice the lines and wrinkles start to reappear. If you choose not to receive follow-up injections, the treated lines and wrinkles will look like they did before BOTOX.
